Flower Girl Dress

Update on the flower girl dress, the original one was being misadvertised on ebay as Ivory when in face it's white, so needless to say I canceled the order and had to go about finding an alternative dress. I did have my heart set on this dress, however after lots of internet searching I couldn't find it. Then I came across this dress in Debenhams, which although hasn't got the same omph the other does was very pretty too. Mum recons she can add either an underskirt, hoop or more tulle to give it more poof. Also it looks gorgeous teamed with a small feather cape and the shoes I got from Next a while ago (which thankfully still fit).
Wedding Hair Inspiration

I've kinda decided my hair will be half up, half down with large curls, like the pics above. I think i'd like a small quiff on top fixed with a pretty vintage looking clip and my veil attached in the same place as the clip. The thing I'm stuck on is my fringe, at the mo it's just skimming the tops of my eyes, straight across, but looking at all these pics they have side-sweeping fringes, so maybe I'll have to grow it for a bit.
thank you card idea
It's a while yet before we need to send thank you cards i know, but i just came across this photo of a couple who took this pic for their save the date cards and thought what a funky idea for thank you cards. I've seen another pic where a couple are holding up a bit of paper with thank you written on it, which is also quite nice and simple.

BM Pashminas
For a while I've been debating the issue of keeping the bridesmaids warm and have toyed with the idea of fur and feather shrugs. After getting my most petite bm to try on a feather shrug I hastily decided not to go with this. It made her look like she belonged in the front row of the Lions! So after a few internet searches I've reached the decision to go with pashminas. Not only are they considerably cheaper (sorry gals) but they'll prevent them looking "all shoulders". I've ordered them in an apple green colour, after being inspired by the piccy above.
DIY: Petal cones
I picked up a little brown wicker basket last weekend at a local charity shop for £2.50, which I thought would be perfect to hold petal cones, so this weekend I made some cones to go in it.
What I used:
Patterned paper 13cmx13cm
Double sided tape
Doiley punch
1. I measured and cut the paper to 13cmx13cm squares

2. Stuck thin strips of double sided tape along one side (see above)
3. Punched two edges of the paper with my doiley punch

4. Rolled the paper into a cone shape, which is a little fiddly but it helps if you do this before peeling the double sided off. (see above)
5. Peeled the double sided tape off and re-rolled the paper into a cone shape.
This method created a nice pointed bit at the top of the cone, which will help when trying to take them out of the basket. Here's the result:
